Compressed Gas Cylinder Cabinets by Labor Security Systems offer a fire-resistant, certified solution for storing gas cylinders safely inside laboratory environments. Designed to comply with EN14470-2 and SANS 54470-1, these cabinets provide secure storage for both flammable and corrosive gases. They are ideal for scientific labs across South Africa.
Certified Fire Safety for Compressed Gas Storage
Models BC 650 S and BC 1350 S hold 2 and up to 4 standard 50-litre gas cylinders, respectively. Each unit features a double-walled monolithic structure made from 10/10 mm pickled steel. An epoxy acid-resistant powder coating, thermally treated for extra durability, adds to the fire safety design.
Inside, the cabinets include fireproof insulation and inflatable intumescent seals that expand during fire conditions. Moreover, built-in ventilation and dual certified safety valves close automatically at 70 ± 10°C. These systems help isolate gas vapours, reducing risk to personnel during emergencies.
Functional and Flexible Laboratory Equipment
Each cabinet includes the following safety and convenience features:
- Corrosion-resistant, anti-scratch internal lining
- Rolling ramps for safe cylinder placement and removal
- Locking chains and adjustable support brackets
- Pre-configured entry points for gas piping and space for a control panel
- Keyed safety locks, grounding connections, and anti-spark hinges
In addition, you can integrate a gas leak detection system. This optional upgrade increases safety by providing early warnings of flammable or toxic gas leaks.
