The Combined Flammable and Chemicals Storage Cabinet – KEMFIRE Series by Labor Security Systems delivers a robust, certified solution for storing flammables, corrosive substances, acids, and bases in laboratory environments across South Africa. These cabinets meet EN 14470-1, SANS 54470-1, and other European safety standards—making them suitable for both research and industrial use.
Certified Dual-Purpose Safety Design
The KEMFIRE Series features a dual-compartment layout that separates flammable materials from corrosive chemicals. Available models include undercounter units like the 1000/50, 1200/50, 1500/50, and 1700/50 (Types A–E), as well as tall cabinets like the 600 A and 1100 A.
Each cabinet is built with electrogalvanized steel and coated in acid-resistant epoxy. The monolithic, double-walled structure includes fireproof insulation, self-closing doors, and intumescent gaskets that expand in high temperatures—sealing the internal compartments during a fire.
Safe Storage for Acids, Bases, and Flammables
Each cabinet includes:
- Chemical compartment: Fitted with tray-style, height-adjustable shelves, a watertight base tray, and an optional Carbox® activated charcoal filter. The Cunctator® alert system indicates when replacement is needed. These components protect users from vapours while safely storing acids and bases.
- Flammable compartment: Contains fire-tested insulation, Ignis-lock® fire-activated locks, inflatable heat-sealing gaskets, and internal ventilation with two certified safety valves. These features meet EN 14470-1 requirements for vapour management and fire containment.
Moreover, the self-closing doors activate at temperatures above 50 °C, providing passive fire safety—no electrical power required.
